Theotis Joe And The Playbacks

You might ask yourself, How does one become great? Well, Some people aquire greatness over time and some are simply born with the gene of greatness. Theotis Joe And his awesome band, The Playbacks were born with the gene of greatness. The four piece which consists of The Main vocalist Theotis Joe, Late Bloom on accoustic and keys, Shelton on guitar, and Benny Brown on drums are astronomical. I attended a live  show Saturday night, Nov 6th 2010 at The Note in West Chester, Pa. which was quite unexpected. To my surprise I was very entertained by the mixture of bands that  performed. There were 4 bands total. G&T Co.,Paradise Movement, Violet Tone, and Theotis Joe and The Playbacks. Although each band rocked the house that night, there was that one band that shut it the fuck down! That band was Theotis Joe and The Playbacks. Theotis had the place in pure bliss. I have to admit! I did not know what to expect when I saw these guys approach the stage. Theotis set it off with his album title song "After Hours", very slick and laid back over some soulful drums. Then the entire band ignited into Streets of Philly. After that, everyone in the entire facility was captivated. Boy! talk about crowd control. Theotis is surely a master of ceremony. The ladies were dancing and dozens of individuals were singing along to the sounds of Theotis Joe. If the room wasn't warm before hand, it damn sure was on fire when they got off stage.  If you want your venue to rock, I recommend these guys any day.
