Well folks! Just when you thought things couldn't get any hotter, Theotis Joe Does it again. With his hit video Streets of Philly, things will never be as they were for him in the past. I recently sat down with Theotis to chat about life and the success of his debut album After Hours and found out some pretty interesting things. According to him, album downloads have been extremely good to him this year. Before and After his cd release, physical copies went through the roof. It wasn't until very recent when things took a turning point. Theotis paid for radio promotion which spread his music across the world very quickly. In return, digital downloads of his music paid for itself and some. By giving away a free download of Streets of Philly to potential new fans, that in return blossomed into massive downloads of the entire album world wide. He calls it quiet cash. Collaborating with Director Paul Byun, Theotis was able to complete a smashing video for streets of Philly. The visual affects and time lapsed footage combined with awesome creativity and compelling characters has raised the bar. The streets of philly video is an excellent advertisement master piece. I can see why sales have boosted. This is a prime example of having your stuff together. Artists must have a great visual as well as great sound. Theotis has expressed to me that he does not rely on music alone to maintain though. He's self employed with a very lucrative hustle, scrap Metal! Theotis say's this is what helped him to accumulate cash to pay for this album as well as maintain a stress free life style. No more working for the man! Joe says with joyful laughter. This gives him the time freedom to hustle his music with ease. Theotis says it's hard work but it allows him to play even harder and give him breathing room for more creativity.
